info       title page
The five trio sonatas of this collection were thought, according to the composer’s words, for three possible combinations of instruments:
1. An oboe, a bassoon and continuo;
2. A violin, a cello and continuo;
3. A transverse flute a viol and continuo.
This statement is also important because it defines how instruments were paired in French music.
Transposing the sonatas a third or a fourth above, it is possible to adapt them for three recorders with just minor adjustments.
